SFU Alumnus Has His Doritos Commercial Aired During Super Bowl XLIX

A local filmmaker and SFU Alumnus placed second in a close Doritos Super Bowl ad competition and missed the grand prize of $1 million by a few inches..

Graham Talbot’s ad “When Pigs Fly” aired during Super Bowl XLIX as part of the Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest which featured nearly 5,000 filmmakers competing for the high powered ad slot. Talbot placed as the runner-up and earned a prize of $50,000 US, and a trip to Arizona to watch the Super Bowl live from the Doritos box seats.

The amusing 30-second spot features a small boy who wants to share some Doritos with a farmer, but is told he can only have some “when pigs fly”. The desperate boy sets to work, launching a pig into the sky with a rocket. The dumbfounded farmer finally hands him the chip bag.
