Looking to rent in Vancouver? You might want to check out the city’s new online rental standards database first!
With the help of this database tenants are able to simply look up an address and view any infractions related to electrical issues, fire, the building itself and more. About 70,000 of Vancouver’s available 131,000 rental units will be available for tenants to search rentals and view all their landlords sins!
Landlords were even given fair warning to clean up their act a few months before the database launched, but some have yet to learn their lesson!
Heres a list of Vancouver’s Worst Single Room Occupany Buildings:
- The Marble Arch Hotel – 141 current issues
- 561 E Hastings – 133 current issues
- The Empress Hotel – 129 current issues
- Gastown Hotel – 122 current issues
- Lion Hotel – 106 current issues
Here are Vancouver’s Worst Non-Single Room Occupany Buildings:
- 104 W 11th Ave (7 units) – 69 current issues, 10 resolved
- 5487 Cecil Street (19 units) – 29 current issues, 0 resolved
- 414 E 10th Avenue (38 units) – 27 current issues, 0 resolved
- 2455 W 2nd Avenue (32 units) – 12 current issues, 0 resolved
- 8796 Fremlin Street – 10 current issues, 0 resolved
