With the recent boom in medical marijuana dispensaries around Vancouver, it’s only fitting an educational institution moves in to offer a course on growing and selling marijuana.
Kwantlen Polytechnic University has revealed a new called Introduction to Professional Management of Marijuana for Medical Purposes in Canada. The program is the first of its kind, and plans to teach students everything they need to know in regards to operating a marijuana business under government regulations.
- White Rock Exploring Pilot Medical Marijuana Dispensary Project
- Medical Marijuana Brownies And Other Edibles Now Legal
The course will be offered online, and run for 14-weeks. Throughout the semester, the course will be split into four modules:
- Plant Production and Facility Management Theory
- Legalities and Regulations: Becoming a Licensed Producer in the MMPR Business
- Marketing, Sales, and Patient Acquisition Strategies
- Medical Conditions and Drug Development Processes
Each module will build off the last, and be taught by Tegan Adams, who currently serves the role of a business development manager at Experchem Laboratories Inc – a company that tests cannabis and helps marijuana producers when dealing with Health Canada.
If you’re a Kwantlen student thinking of taking the class as an elective, you might want to consider the tuition fee. According to the course page, the fee for two modules is $1249 + GST, and $2498 + GST for all four modules.
In addition to medical marijuana, Kwantlen also offers a Diploma in Beer. If you happen to be a student at UBC, here’s 7 interesting courses you should consider taking.
