Lululemon Is Entering The Craft Beer Scene With "Yoga Beer"

A month after Lululemon founder and fellow Vancouverite Chip Wilson sold his company shares, Lululemon has announced its new product: beer.

The yoga pant giant has revealed that it’s entering Vancouver’s heavily popular and booming craft beer scene with “Curiosity Lager” in collaboration with Stanley Park Brewing.

The craft beer is described as a “crisp, bold session lager flavoured with lemon drop hops”. It will hold 4.6 per cent alcohol by volume, and will be sold in 200 government liquor stores across B.C. and Alberta in tall-boy cans. Select private liquor stores will also carry the new craft beer.

“Just because you’re a yogi, doesn’t mean you won’t have an occasion for beer, and we’re certainly interested in talking to that crowd,” said Doug Devlin, Stanley Park Brewing’s marketing director.

What are your thoughts on Lululemon entering the beer market? Is the product differentiation a good fit? Let us know your two cents in the comments below!
