Inside A Van With A Vancouver Indie Artist: Jake Touzel

Jake Touzel

Inside A Van is 604 Now’s latest series in collaboration with Indie Vancity. This week, we bring you a live performance from Jake Touzel, a local Vancouver artist.

Discovering music at the age of 13, Jake performed in and fronted a handful of other groups until realizing that his efforts were best spent solo. Fast forward to 2015, Jake released his debut offering the “BAD FAITH” EP, a collection of songs about admitting who you really are and not being afraid to leave people behind.

To get to know Jake Touzel on a more personal level, we threw the following random questions his way:

Most extreme sport undertaken: Rugby

Your teenage angst anthem: The end of Heartache – Killswitch Engage

Name of favourite imaginary friend (past or current): Dolf

Favourite local comfort food:  Bestie! (currywurst)

If you were a cake, what cake would you be: Carrot Cake

Most exciting imminent or current musical adventure: my new EP, “Bad Faith” is out on iTunes! You can buy it here.

Two line bio: “Jake Touzel’s smoky vocals paired with multi-generational alternative rock elements combine to form a balance of raw, whiskey fueled energy and crafted musicianship that resonates like a growing storm cloud.”
