Vancouver residents will soon have the chance to go skydiving without having to jump out of a plane.
The much anticipated iFly Vancouver is set to open in the summer of 2020. It will be located next to Bridgeport Station in Richmond.
The three-storey building’s height is ideal for the vertical skydiving centre. There will also be wind-generating fans with airflows of 300 km/hour.
The actual skydiving only lasts about a minute, but the entire experience is up to two hours. That includes training, spectating, and suiting up.
Each person will fly at least two times with an instructor who shows you the basics of how it’s done.
Packages start at $60. And while it may seem pricy for such a short time, its instructors say it’s well worth it. It’s also undoubtedly less expensive than skydiving out of a plane.
“The exhilaration of flying brings people back for many different reasons,” states the iFly website. “It might be, defying gravity, achieving a thrilling new ability, or just an escape from the ordinary.”
The skydiving company has locations across North America, with ones in Calgary and Toronto.
You do not need prior experience and it’s open to anyone above the age of 3.
