1. Berries

a. Blueberries have shown to help increase cells made in the hippocampus.
This is beneficial because as you get older it helps improve learning and
motor skills.
b. Strawberries contain a nutrient called quercetin, it aids with memory, and helps to inhibit inflammation which occurs in the brain.

Overall, berries help make sure that as you get older your learning ability does not decrease. They also helps with memory and decrease chances for Alzheimer’s disease. Berries work best if they are taken fresh, rather than processed.

Fatty fish contains omega-3 and studies have shown this helps increase your memory. Basically the fatty fish helps make sure vitamins such as A,E,D and K reach your brain, because all these vitamins aid in brain functioning, but are fat soluble, so without certain types of fat they will not effectively reach your brain. If you are not a fish lover you can always take fish oil pills. Some fatty fish include salmon, sardines, tuna, trout, cod, and white fish.

3. Green Tea

Green tea contains a antioxidant, EGCG – this antioxidant protects your brain from damage. One of the best green teas to buy is Bancha green tea.

4. Dark Chocolate

Dark chocolate contains a certain ingredient called procyanidin, this ingredient helps blood circulate in your brain more effectively, which means oxygen is able to reach more parts of the brain. People who suffer from ADHD have a decrease in oxygen flow in their brain, and this is what causes the lack in concentration and memory. Increase in oxygen flow increases memory, learning, and also allows you to concentrate more.

5. Grape Fruit

Grape Fruit specifically enhances short term memory, and it makes sure that over time it does not decline. However
one of the main function’s grape fruit has is that it increases dopamine levels in your brain. Also, this ingredient has been shown to inhibit production of certain proteins which break down nerve cells. We do not want our nerve cells to break down because if they do our impulses would be slowed down, which would mean your learning ability would decline.

8. Avocados

Avocados contain many antioxidants. The purpose of these antioxidants is to they help increase blood flow, which
means greater oxygen flow, and this increases your memory. Avocados also help lower blood pressure, and having
a lower blood pressure means you are less at risk for having cognitive decline when you get older.
