With California and Washington State planning to ban gas cars in the next decade or so, it begs the question: will green Vancouver be next?
The City of Vancouver always strives for more greener options, which is why we have one of the most bike-friendly cities in the country and why electric vehicles like Tesla’s are so commonly found here.
City officials have also put forward goals of wanting to become one of the greenest cities in the world. And given that Washington State is our neighbour down south, it would make sense to follow in their footsteps.

Washington State recently passed a “Clear Cars 2030” bill that would see all light-duty vehicles made in 2030 or later, be electric.
It’s the first state to pass a gas car ban, but California and even Massachusetts have plans in the works to implement gas car bans by 2035.
The new environment-friendly bill will basically ban the sale, purchase or registration of any non-electric vehicle that has a model year of 2030 or later.
