FUFÚ CAFÉ
Japan is well-known for their desserts, but their pancakes are definitely a cut above the rest. Airy, jiggly, and oh-so soft, their soufflé pancakes are world-renown for being a slice of heaven in the sweetest form.
Lucky for Vancouverites, Fufú Café is bringing the flavours of Japanese desserts and café culture straight to the West Coast. No, you don’t need to spend a thousand dollars for a one-way plane ticket just to try a sweet– simply hop in your car (or bike, or a bus, or take a walk), and head on over to West Broadway to try these legendary pancakes.
Having opened back in 2019, this little café is the perfect spot to satiate your sweet tooth. Bring a friend, bring a date, or just bring yourself; you’ll all be loving these delicious desserts anyways.
SWEET AND SAVOURY
Fufú Café specializes, unsurprisingly, in their jiggly soufflé pancakes. You can get either a sweet or savoury one. As for the sweet, you can can ones like salted cream, mixed fruit, or matcha or tiramisu. And for the savoury, there’s smoked salmon and avocado, eggs benny (with versions adding smoked salmon, avocado, sausage, or bacon), and even okonomiyaki, which is a Japanese savoury pancake– but in the traditional flat form.

If you’re not in the pancake mood, Fufú Café also has Japanese sandos (sandwiches), which are just as soft and fluffy. They’re bursting with filling, whether that’s egg salad or fresh fruits.
Finally, no café is complete without some sips and smaller bites. Fufú Café has a wonderful espresso and tea menu, as well as plenty of pastry offerings if you want a smaller treat.
