A Chilliwack pastor has been charged with four counts of child pornography.
Johannes Vermeer is a Fraser Valley native. The charges that he received date all the way back to 2015 and 2010.
Mike Rail, with the Upper Fraser Valley RCMP Regional Detachment, says that Vermeer is charged with two possessions of child pornography and two accounts of accessing child pornography.

Pastor Shawn Vandop, who is a part of the Main Street Church in Chilliwack, said he contacted the police after discovering some questionable material on a computer.
Vandop stated that Vermeer resigned back in March as the executive Chilliwack pastor. While in that position, he had not been in contact with children.
Vermeer has since appeared in court in Chilliwack last month, and will be returning to provincial court April 17th.
