It’s another weekend afternoon and you are planning to go out, have some fun, have some drinks, and spend some time with your friends, your friends significant other, your friends significant others friends, and whoever else might be joining you for the night. Yeah I know that was a mouthful to say but just stick with me here folks!
We all have some sort of dreadful activity that we take part in on a weekly basis and need to take a breather from, and party a little bit….or a lot. It could be a stressful week at home, your dreadful minimum wage job, or of course good old school. So to prepare you and whoever is reading this out there and I am going to prepare a list of some of the best places to pre party in Vancouver.
Best Places To Pre Party in Vancouver
1. Your basement (if applicable)
I apologize ahead of time to all my readers in Richmond B.C. who do not have basements due to the fact that if they did, it would not be called a basement, but rather a swimming pool.. All jokes aside, a basement provides the perfect, chill environment to pre game with a couple buddies before you head out for the night. Your friends can chug down a couple beers while playing some video games, or play a game of good old beer pong.
2. Your Dorm
Colleges, and universities are once again starting a new school year, which means new students will be moving into dorms, and returning students will be moving back on to campus. First week is full of events for students to participate in from pub nights, backyard BBQ’s, to classic frat parties. Dorms allow fellow students to mingle with one another, get to know one another, and provide the perfect place to pre party before wrecking havoc on campus, upon returning to your dorm after having a bit too much to drink and hiding from your dorm supervisor.
3. Ceilis (various locations around the 604)
Ceilis, one of the more established, well known pubs in the 604 offers the perfect environment to enjoy a good meal, and drinks before you head out for your big night, whether you are going to a concert in town that night, or heading down to Granville street to party all night at one of Vancouver’s best-known nightclubs such as Caprice, Venue, and Joseph Richard. With cheap bar food, daily drink specials, and locations in Richmond, Surrey, and Vancouver to serve the public Ceilis is a affordable, convenient place to head down to for the pre “turn up” to your night. Check out their full list of specials at www.ceilis.com

4. Yaggers
So the Canucks are playing the same night that you are supposed to go out for a friends party and you are stuck in a dilemma as to whether or not you want to skip the game since you are a hardcore, loyal fan even though the Canucks have NEVER won the cup. Fear not! Yaggers Sports Bar is the perfect place to catch the big game and still go out to your friends party after. With 2 locations, 1 located on 433 Pender Street in downtown and another located on 2884 West Broadway in Kitsilano, Yaggers offers 2 excellent locations to get your night started. Yaggers offers a affordable food menu ranging from $5-$25 with excellent drink specials as well. Thursday’s they offer jagermeister shots for $4.50, and on Fridays offer Rickards Red for $3.70. Then come on down to The Cambie to get your night off the right way! With great drink specials every night and great priced food, your wallet will not suffer too much. 7. The Famous Warehouse
The name says it all. How can you not think a place named “The Famous Warehouse” would be a awesome place to pre party. Especially if you are hungry cause this place offers some great bar food, and great prices! Now i know students especially try to watch their spending during the school year since tuition costs are just way too high, but The Famous Warehouse is cheap enough for even most students! They have recently adopted a new menu where everything is $4.95! Last time I checked that is even cheaper than eating on campus, or even at home. For those who may eat more than others they even have all-you-can-eat Taco Tuesdays for just $6.99! AY CARAMBA SENOR! They also offer great drink specials and an environment that will set the right tone for the rest of your night. To see their full menu, and location check out thefamouswarehouse.com
8. Chill Winston, Gastown
If you’re searching for a somewhat fancier and calmer scene, Chill Winston is definitely an option. The gastrolounge boosts a huge patio and is moments away from a lot of the top Gastown pubs and clubs. Visit them online.

9. In A Limo
Everything is funner when it’s on wheels. Taking a limo ride with 10-20 of your closest friends is a great option considering how much scenery the 604 has to offer. Among the popular routes, a ride through downtown and then Stanley Park offers the best experience. Good music is a must have so make sure you bring your iPod! Check on 604 Now’s limo fleet.
10. On Granville Street
If you plan on partying on Granville, why not pre party there as well? It’s a great option to have if you don’t have a DD or want to spend money on cabs. You also save time transporting yourself from one place to another. In addition to clubs, the strip boosts tons of restaurants and lounges filled with other pre partiers getting ready for the big night. A great 2 for 1 package.
