Best Buy has officially opened four large-scale Google shops within their stores across Canada.
The ‘shop within a shop’ model allows for Google shops to be included in Best Buy locations in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Mississauga. The joint shopping experience is the first of its kind in North America.
The Google shops in select Best Buy locations opened earlier this week and will allow consumers to fully experience the company’s wide range of product features; including the likes of Pixel, Daydream View and Chromecast Ultra.
The collaboration expands on Best Buy’s recent renovations of their Experience Stores—where they upgraded stores from coast to coast.
“We are thrilled about the launch of our newly renovated stores and to showcase the new Google shops,” says Ron Wilson, President and COO of Best Buy Canada. “We are committed to providing our customers with the best service and the most exciting tech. We can’t wait for the public to enjoy the special in-store experiences.”
Last month, smaller Google shops were introduced into select Best Buy stores but the new larger-scale shops allow the company to fully showcase what they can offer in an immersive retail space.
The Google shops will enable consumers to experience their products hands-on with trained Google guides on-site to offer support.
Shoppers can also experience the wonders of Portal—an immersive display where they can ‘fly’ anywhere in the world through Google Earth technology.
“We’re really proud to bring Canadians together with Google’s tremendous new line of hardware, to experience the latest innovations first hand,” concluded Best Buy President & COO Ron Wilson. “This is exactly why we have redesigned our Experience Stores – to provide the perfect environment for enthusiastic people and bold new technologies to come together.”
Guests can book one-on-one appointments with Google guides, take part in daily workshops and attend seasonal events led by leaders of the tech industry.
