Easter long weekend is one of the busiest travelling periods for BC Ferries and it appears they were not prepared for it.
Passengers are complaining about delays and chaotic traffic lineups at numerous BC Ferries terminals.

According to one passenger, the lineup at Horseshoe Bay was “backed-up kms out of the terminal”.
The traffic at #BCFerries Tsawwassen looks terrible, but it's being managed just fine. Arrive in time for your reservation and don't panic and you'll be fine.

Another passenger tweeted that BC Ferries should’ve seen this coming:
Hey @BCFerries . Were you not aware it was a long weekend? Never seen traffic control @ ferry terminal so poorly managed. Your people directing traffic giving out wrong info- & no guidance for those with reservations. Do better. #swartzbay #bcferries #trafficfreeforall @NEWS1130

Just after 12:00 p.m., it was reported that Horseshoe Bay Terminal pay parking facilities had reached capacity. Alternate transportation options, such as public transit, are heavily recommended.
