BC Ferries Adding 90 Sailings For Thanksgiving Long Weekend

BC Ferries is preparing for a heavy influx in passengers over the Thanksgiving long weekend.

Each year the long weekend is one of the busiest for the ferry service, with multitudes of people crossing to and from the islands to visit family and friends.

In order to facilitate the extra number BC Ferries has added an additional 82 sailings over the course of the weekend.

These extra sailing begin at 6 am on October 6th – 8th and also 10th. They have also added midnight departures from Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay on October 6th and 9th.


They will also have extra sailings between Horseshoe Bay and Departure Bay during peak travel times.

It is also important to note that passengers will no longer be able to stay in their vehicles in the lower decks of the ferries any longer.

Reservations are available for those that cannot afford to wait for a sailing. They have also advised that people going by foot use transit to get to the terminal rather than driving because parking lots will be very full.
