The recall affects 16,208 Ford vehicles sold in Canada— specifically, 2018-2024 Ford Expedition models.

According to Transport Canada, the problem has to do with the centre console. “On certain vehicles, the chrome plating on the center console could bubble and peel. If this happens, sharp edges can be created… Exposed sharp edges can increase the risk of injury.”

Ford will be notifying owners by mail, advising them to take their vehicle to a dealership for inspection. If necessary, they will replace the centre console.

For more information, you can contact Ford via telephone at 1-800-565-3673. You can also check their website to see if this recall applies to your vehicle.
