If you can avoid going to Downtown Vancouver this week, you probably should. This week is shaping up to be a busy one for everyone as the city will be fuller than usual.
CRUISE SHIPS COMING IN
It’s cruise ship season, which means the Port of Vancouver is going to be seeing a ton of ships stopping here.
From May 27 to June 1, sixteen cruise ships will be stopping in Vancouver to collect their passengers. Unsurprisingly, the weekend will be the busiest time for arrivals and departures with a total of seven ships sailing into the port.

The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority has a full 2025 cruise schedule that lists all the ships that will be arriving in Vancouver. You can find the entire schedule here, but we’ve listed which ships will be showing up this week.
- May 27: Grand Princess
- May 28: Coral Princess, Seven Seas Explorer, Zaandam
- May 29: Roald Amundsen, Silver Moon, Oceania Riviera
- May 30: Radiance of the Seas, Seabourn Quest
- May 31: Sapphire Princess, Seven Seas Mariner, Koningsdam, Viking Venus
- June 1: Celebrity Solstice, Serenade of the Seas, Nieuw Amsterdam
This year, 1.2 million passenger visits are expected by the Port of Vancouver.
AND A CONVENTION, TOO
But that’s not all. Downtown Vancouver will also be home to Web Summit Vancouver this week. This is a huge tech conference that brings together “thousands of international entrepreneurs, investors, media outlets, and leaders.”

Hosted at the Vancouver Convention Centre, this massive gathering expects to bring over 15,000 attendees. There will also be over 600 investors and 750 startups. The entire event will take place from May 27 to May 30, four days full of tech talk.
As this is the first Web Summit hosted in North America, you can expect large crowds and traffic headed into the Vancouver Convention Centre. Combining this with the upcoming cruise ship arrivals, Downtown Vancouver is certainly going to be crowded this week.
