Mayor Kennedy Stewart, members of Vancouver City Council, the Vancouver Pride Society (VPS), local LGBTQAI2S+ figures, and elders from local First Nations groups were all in attendance for the event.

“Today we launched #PrideWeek at City Hall”, reads a tweet by Mayor Kennedy.

“Pride is truly a party with a purpose, a celebration of the remarkable LGBTQ2+ community, of who they are and who they love”.

Over on Davie Street, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau himself stopped by a local gay pub to celebrate the start of Pride Week 2019.
