Vancouver International Airport has finally revealed the opening date for the highly anticipated YVR Outlet Mall.
The first 46 brands to debut at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet will include global giants such as Armani, Nike, and Hugo Boss. Local retailers include Café Artigiano and Secret Location. The mall will be approximately 70% leased by its opening day on July 9, 2015, confirmed YVR.
The outlet mall is being designed as an open-air village; with pedestrian-friendly walkways and tree-lined streets. It will be located on the northeast corner of Sea Island near the Templeton Canada Line Station.
With so many popular luxury designer brands—the new development will likely become a shopping hub for both locals and tourists.
In April, a career fair held by the new outlet mall attracted more than 1,600 applicants, who will be needed to fill 600 retail positions in the first phase of the development. Another 400 jobs are expected to be filled later this year.
