Whitecaps fans are happy to finally see the team back at home after a month long road trip.

To be exact, the Whitecaps last played at BC Place on April 14th in a 2-1 victory over the Portland Timbers.

In front of 21,020 fans, the Whitecaps put in arguably their best game of the season taking down West leading Sporting Kansas 2-0.

David Ousted recorded the perfect game for Whitecaps FC (5W-5L-1D). Kansas City drops to (6W-3L-4D).

The ‘Caps got on the board in the 40th minute on a dazzling display of passing and finish.

Sheanon Williams sent a cross from just inside the right corner flag to the far post, where Christian Bolaños chested the ball, setting up Cristian Techera’s left-footed volley to the bottom right corner of the net. It was Techera’s third goal of the season.

Vancouver came out hungry in the second half. In the 53rd minute, it was Kansas City goalie Melia denying Fredy Montero’s penalty kick, and Bolaños’ rebound attempts.

Substitute Alphonso Davies entered the game in the second half and brought a level of energy needed to pull away.

In the 67th minute, Davies got a free kick for his hard work on the ball. Bolaños’ free kick made contact with Tim Parker, to score his first MLS goal with a header.

Whitecaps begin the quest for their second Voyageurs Cup on Tuesday evening at BC Place. They host Montreal Impact. The Canadian Championship semifinal second leg kicks off at 7:00 p.m.
