In 1929, YVR made its debut and helped the City of Vancouver reach new heights.
Today, YVR is the second busiest airport in Canada and notorious worldwide for the awards of excellence in earns every year. However, YVR wasn’t always as established as it is today.
Below are pictures of Vancouver International Airport from the 1930’s, just years after the City of Vancouver bought the Sea Island for aviation purposes. After you take a look, compare the photos with this photo of YVR in 1958.
