Vancouver To Host World’s Largest Video Game Championship DOTA 2 This Summer

“For the first time ever, the battle for the Aegis of Champions will be waged on Canadian soil.”

Calling all gamers! Vancouver will host the International DOTA 2 Championships for the first time ever this summer.

The event is the biggest eSports Tournament in the world, with Seattle hosting for the past 6 years.

Now, Rogers Area will hold the prestigious event for a full week from August 20th – 25th.

Not only does it draw a massive turnout, but it awards players with handsome prizes. Last year, the prize pool sat at an impressive $25 million USD, with the finalist claiming $10.9 million alone.

DOTA 2 Championship

The popular online game has an incredible 10 million active players across the globe, and the tournament originated in Germany.

Tickets for the renowned event go on sale Friday, March 23rd at 10 am PST. The first four days are sold for $125 CAD, and the final two days for $250 CAD.

Tickets will be available via Ticketmaster.ca.
