Royal Canadian Family Circus
Having been around for 50 years, the Royal Canadian Family Circus is coming to Metro Vancouver this May! It’ll be stopping in Surrey, Tsawwassen, Richmond, and Abbotsford.

This one-day event offers people the chance to try over 50 different types of root beer (root beer ice cream?! Yum!). It will be held at Sticky’s Candy in Langley on May 26th, from 11AM to 3PM.
Kendrick Lamar and Sza Concert
This May 4th, musical legends Kendrick Lamar and Sza will be appearing at Rogers Arena. Buy tickets here, and prepare yourself for a night like no other.
Wheel 2 Heal
A unique bike ride through the Tri-Cities that raises money for patient care at Eagle Ridge hospital, Wheel 2 Heal is the only bike ride that crosses all three bridges! There are 15km, 40km, and 100km rides to participate in this May 5th.
Royal Victorian Party
On Sunday May 20th, the Historic Stewart Farm in Surrey will be hosting a Royal Victorian Party. You’ll have the chance to enjoy live dancing, create a bejewelled crown, churn some ice cream, and most importantly – meet the woman who had a whole era named after her, Queen Victoria herself.
One of Western Canada’s most popular events, the Cloverdale Rodeo returns May 18th to 21st for its 72nd year. There’ll be roughstock rodeo events, a freestyle skateboard round-up, a cowboy rib fest, live entertainment, and more!

Happening on the third Thursday of every month, Beaty Nocturnal lets visitors visit after regular hours. You can experience a guided museum tour at 7pm, experience hands-on activities, and explore what the natural history museum has to offer.
BC Cider Festival
The second annual BC Cider Festival will feature over twenty different ciders from around BC, the PNW, and abroad.
The event is part of the annual BC Cider Week, which takes place from April 28th to May 6th. Tickets are sold out, but you can sign up for the wait list here!

Ladner May Days

BMO International Vancouver Marathon
Labelled as one of the top destination marathons in the world, the BMO International Vancouver Marathon weekend is Vancouver’s only marathon, a fast half marathon, an 8KM race, relay, and kids run.

Disney Pixar Exhibition
Disney and Pixar lovers, indulge in all your favourite Pixar characters (and take pictures with them, too!) at this interactive Pixar exhibition coming to Science World. It’s a great way to spend a Metro Vancouver date – this way you have someone to help take your pictures.
The exhibition starts May 19th, and goes up until January of 2019.
Biking On Barnston Island
Nestled between Surrey and Pitt Meadows, Barnston Island is the perfect quaint Metro Vancouver date day getaway. The best way to navigate through the island is on a bike.
The loop is relatively easy, being a flat 10km loop that goes around the island with viewpoints along the way. There’s a free ferry that takes you to and from the island, arriving often.
As Metro Vancouver’s only drive-in movie theatre, it’s a great way to catch some flicks under the stars (and become starry-eyed at those celebrities). Showtimes can be found here.

Located in North Vancouver, the Shipyards Night Market offers up fresh food, live entertainment, local art and handmade products.
The Friday Night Market features a beer garden that serves both craft beer and cider. Best part? It’s free!
