The Tsawwassen Mills outlet mall has officially opened doors to the public and drew a massive crowd in anticipation of grand opening deals.
Among other in-store discounts, the first 1,000 people through the doors received a $50 gift card to the 1.2 million square feet shopping outlet, which is now one of the largest malls in Canada.
According to reports, shoppers began to arrive at approximately 1:30am and lined up in the designated areas.
Eager shoppers poured in throughout the morning which ultimately led to traffic congestion and backups within the area.
To help ease traffic, the B.C. Government has positioned traffic control personnel on site from October 5 through 11.
Among the 200 stores at the mall, 180 are officially open, with 16 of them being anchors.
