Students Sign A Petition To Close Schools
The petition was started by Muhammad Ghumman, a Grade 12 student at Richmond Secondary School.
“Due to the current weather conditions it would be in the Richmond School District #38s best interests to call for a snow day as the sidewalks and the streets are covered in snow and ice “ reads the petition website.
“This would be in the best interests for the safety of the parents and students who are part of the Richmond Schools”.
Despite terrible weather conditions, students at Simon Fraser University, which literally sits on top of Burnaby Mountain, also found out that classes weren’t being cancelled.
