Distracted driving is becoming a common thread these days—causing one in four deaths on BC roads.
West Vancouver Police and North Vancouver RCMP are taking matters into their own hands.
They teamed up to catch distracted drivers by dressing as utility workers and monitoring vehicles from above in a cherry picker.
The officer in the cherry picker pointed out distracted drivers along Marine Drive in North Vancouver.
Police urge drivers not to use their mobile devices while on the road and if they need to make a call then to pull over to do so.
