McMath secondary school is currently under a “hold and secure” procedure after a threat was posted online on Monday, May 29.
The post appears to take aim at students in the LGBTQ and Jewish communities.

Specifics are not clear at the moment but proper precautions are being taken to keep parents and students safe.
A message posted on McMath’s school website says:
“McMath students are currently remaining in their first period classrooms in response to a concerning message that was posted recently. All students and staff are safe and the RCMP are on site following district protocol”.
Local police first began their investigation late Monday afternoon after Richmond RCMP noticed what they describe as “WiFi SSID spoofing incidents”.
