Are McLarens the hottest cars in Vancouver now? Last week, a McLaren was caught speeding and impounded almost as soon as it left the sales lot. On Canada Day, a second McLaren was caught speeding and impounded.
This time, however, the driver was caught via a speed trap set by Vancouver Police, on the Granville Street Bridge.
In place before noon on Canada Day, the speed trap ended up catching 30 speeders, 10 of which were described as “excessive.”
The most notable among them: an azure-blue McLaren going upwards of 130 km/h and a matte-black Dodge Challenger that clocked in at 125 km/h. The bridge’s speed limit? 60 km/h.
Happy Canada Day! We set up on the Granville St Bridge this evening targeting speeders. 30 speeders were stopped, 10 were excessive, including this McLaren at 130 kmh and this Challenger at 125 kmh. #impound #speedkills @ChiefPalmer @DeputyChow @Eandersen1507 @VPDTrafficUnit pic.twitter.com/oJwS5PPxAJ
