It was that time of the week again: the Lotto Max Draw! And while many people threw their tickets away, a couple of lucky folk won some huge cash prizes.
One Metro Vancouver resident even took home the second place Lotto Max Draw prize!
BIG WINNERS
Tuesday’s jackpot totalled $40 million. Unfortunately, no one won the grand prize, but one person from Maple Ridge, B.C. got to take home $81,695.70. This prize was split between another B.C. resident from Creston, who got an equal amount. Their numbers matched six out of seven of the winning numbers– and this includes the bonus.

And it seems like B.C. wasn’t done winning just yet. Someone from Gibson also took home the top prize of $500,000 after their numbers matched the Lotto Max Extra prize.
A handful of other Canadians also won prizes this Tuesday, including thirty-five people who matched six of seven of the Lotto Max Draw numbers. They won a substantial $4,668.30.
B.C. IS FEELING LUCKY
B.C. has seen a fair number of lottery winners this year. In fact, they’ve broken some records! A man from Kamloops won B.C.’s largest Scratch & Win prize ever, and he was so shocked when he learned of his that he thought to himself, “Are those numbers really that big?”
A Vancouver man also won $40 million after he picked up a Bubly and a few lottery tickets. He almost forgot to check his tickets– but when he did, they came up with some huge numbers.
And then there was Surrey’s own Justin Simporios who won the biggest lottery jackpot ever in the province. When he was grabbing some last-minute groceries, he also got a $12 Quick Pick Lotto Max ticket that won him a massive $80 million prize.

The next Lotto Max draw is on September 5, so there’s still time to get a ticket if you’re feeling as lucky as these folks.
But remember: know your limit, play within it.
