Batteries sometimes get warm, but they’re not supposed to catch fire. Health Canada has just issued a recall for almost 12,000 batteries with concerns over potential fire hazards.

CANADA ISSUES RECALL ON POWER BANK BATTERIES

The recall is for ESR HaloLock Wireless Power Banks. These power banks have the potential to overheat, which can then cause a fire hazard.

They have already had a number of fire reports, with 9 in Canada causing property damage. The U.S. has additionally had 11 fire reports that have resulted in property damage. No injuries have been reported from either the U.S. or Canada.
