This past weekend, Vancouver held its annual Vaisakhi Parade from the KDS Ross Sikh Temple. In town for the religious celebration was Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
This event has quickly grown in popularity throughout the years, becoming a yearly tradition.
Justin Trudeau was also joined at the parade by Minister of National Defence, Harjit Sajjan, Attorney General David Eby, and numerous others.
Vaisakhi marks the beginning of the harvest season in India. In addition, it marks the birth of Khalsa in 1699.
On Saturday, April 20th, the Surrey Vaisakhi Parade, one of the largest outside of India, will take place. The massive parade shattered records by attracting over 400,000 people last year.
