St. Mark’s Summit, West Vancouver

The intermediate trail is a popular hike through October. It’s 11-kms in length, with an elevation gain of 460-metres. It takes about 5 hours to complete but the view at the top makes it all worth it.

An easier option for those looking to get some fresh air without committing to an intense hike. The elevation gain is minimal and there’s up to 6-kms of trails to explore, taking about 2 hours to complete. Nestled along the shores of West Vancouver, you will be amongst the most stunning scenery. It’s also open all year long.

Quarry Rock, North Vancouver

An easy favourite for Vancouverites, and it’s not hard to see why. Open year-round, the 3.8-km trail takes 1.5 hours to complete and leads you to the most amazing of views. Not a lot of hard work for the reward that’s in store at the top. It’s also in Deep Cove, so why not treat yourself to the iconic honey doughnuts afterwards, you’ve earned it.

Open through October, the intermediate trail runs 8-kms and takes about 4 hours to complete, with an elevation gain of 300-metres. If it’s a clear day, you may be lucky enough to see Mount Baker, Vancouver Island, and some of the mountain ranges in Garibaldi Provincial Park.

Norvan Falls, North Vancouver

Check out this intermediate 14-km hike that’s open year-round and takes about 5 hours to complete. The elevation gain of 195-metres takes you into the lush green forests of the stunning and scenic Lynn Headwaters Regional Park. Take your time once you reach the falls and take it all in.

Lynn Loop, North Vancouver

An easy trail also nestled in Lynn Headwaters Regional Park. It runs 5.1-kms, takes about 1.5 hours to complete, is open year-round and has minimal elevation gain. The short trail will lead you through the greenery until you reach the cascading waters of Lynn Creek.

Velodrome Trail, Burnaby

Hit up Burnaby Mountain for this intermediate 3-km hike that takes an hour to complete, with an elevation gain of 240-metres. It’s commonly referred to as Burnaby’s Grind, as you climb more than 500 wooden stairs.

Sasamat Lake, Port Moody

If you’re looking for a nice and easy hike open year-round, this is the spot. The 8-km route has an elevation gain of 100-metres and takes about 3 hours to complete. The lake is a part of the gorgeous Belcarra Regional Park and had a plethora of trails and nature to explore.

Buntzen Lake, Port Moody

Find the gem just north of Port Moody. The easy 8-km trail has an elevation gain of 110-metres and takes about 3.5 hours to complete. It’s open year-round and offers many scenic sights, including lush trails, a floating bridge and beach area.

Lindeman Lake, Chilliwack

The stunning emerald-green shades of this lake will satisfy your sense of wanderlust. The small lake is nestled in Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park and offers an intermediate 3.4-km hike with an elevation gain of 300-meters, open through October.
