The Harvest Moon is the full moon closest to the autumnal equinox. The Hunter’s Moon is the full moon after the Harvest Moon.

So what makes the Hunter’s Moon so special?

Nature is particularly cooperative around the time of the autumn equinox to make the fall full moonrises unique.

This particular moon gets its name from hunters who tracked and killed their prey by autumn moonlight, stockpiling food for the winter ahead.

The best spots to view the harvest moon would be a park or another spot outside of the city area such as Porteau Cove. It’s important to ensure that there’s enough darkness to see the full display.
