Through Health Canada, Teva Canada has issued an urgent recall for one lot of a popular non-prescription medication due to possibly containing “foreign material.”

Generic Acetaminophen Recall in Canada
The recall involves one lot of the non-prescription drug Novo-Gesic Forte 500 mg (acetaminophen) due to the potential presence of phenolic resin or epoxy. According to the notice, “if ingested, [the foreign material] may cause injury to the digestive system.”
“The affected product was supplied to pharmacies in 1,000-count bottles and was dispensed to patients in smaller quantities.”
Currently, Health Canada is monitoring the recall and the company’s preventative and corrective actions. Should additional safety issues arise, “Health Canada will take appropriate action and inform Canadians as needed.”

What to Do
