The nine-foot bronze statue, situated between Stanley Park Drive and the seawall has been spotted sporting a massive Iron Man helmet along with a electromagnet chest piece as of Thursday, April 30.
While many found the new temporary look neat, the Vancouver Park Board is not impressed and has labeled the act as vandalism.
“This is not a park board or city art project and we do not condone the activity,” the park board said in a statement. “We will give the perpetrators until tomorrow am to seize the helmet — after which we will confiscate it.”
