Donair Land Brings Middle Eastern Flavours To Vancouver

Donair Land

Donairs are primarily known as a Turkish dish made from cooked chicken, beef, or lamb on a vertical rotisserie. The meats are then sliced into crisp shavings and served within pitas and flatbreads, and/or also served on a plate with rice.

Donairs are widely popular in middle eastern countries and were first introduced in Canada during the early 1970s. Today, donairs are among the most popular fast-food Turkish dishes in Vancouver, and one of the best spots to get your hands on them is at Donair Land.

Since opening in November of 2010, Donair Land has quickly emerged as a convenient food shop situated at 3384 Vanness Ave, right across the street from Joyce skytrain station.

Adi Soltani is the proud owner and opened up the small restaurant after selling his previous venture The End Cafe on Commercial Drive, which has now transformed into the St. Augustines Bar.

In addition to their wide variety of donairs, the shop is best known for their chicken plate which is served with rice, or salad if you’re trying to cut carbs. The plate is topped up with fresh garlic sauce, tzatziki, and hot sauce to complete the mouth-watering meal.

What differentiates Donair Land from similar restaurants in the city is their customer service and unique taste. Although their seasoning recipe is a secret, Soltani takes pride in their exposed kitchen, allowing customers to get a clear view of his team marinading the chicken and arranging their fresh vegetables.

Daily deals include wraps for $6.00, any bottled drink and original sandwich for $7.99, along with chicken plates for $10 including tax.

To kick things up a notch for the summer, they Donair Land plans to launch a patio and expand their menu with french fries and potatoes on top of the list.
