Dine Out Vancouver 2015 has officially kicked off with over 250 participating restaurants and has a little something for every foodie in the city.
Our first stop during this year’s festival was Bogart’s Bar & Restaurant. Situated inside the Hampton Inn at 121 Robson and Beatty, the restaurant is across the street from BC Place and minutes away from Rogers Arena making it an ideal spot to visit before or after big events in downtown.
As apart of Bogart’s $28 Dine Out menu, we ordered their Scallops, Bison Ribs, and Chocolate Molten Cake.
The scallops are seared on a pan with bacon, goat cheese, arugula, and French lentil ragout. They were chewy, and had the perfect amount of crisp – nonetheless, a great appetizer.
Next were the Bison Ribs. They were a little more tender than we anticipated, but were easy to pull off the bone and enjoy with a fork (why get your hands dirty if you don’t have to?). The ribs came with a side of apple braised red cabbage and a gruyere cheese potato gratin which topped the meal off quite well.
Last but not least was the dessert – Chocolate Molten Cake. The dessert was bite size and smaller than we hoped, but it made up for it with its rich and sweet flavour. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, we highly recommend you order two cakes!
An alternative to the Scallops, Bison Ribs, and Chocolate Molten Cake is their Beet Salad, Arctic Char/Chicken Pot Pie, and Bailey’s Creme Brulee.
Bogart’s Bar & Restaurant is one of the newer restaurants in downtown (opened doors last May) and definitely worth a visit. They have daily lunch specials including beer+burger and weekly drink specials. Sports fan? Even better! They have numerous TV’s throughout the restaurant to ensure you catch the game while enjoying your food.
