Lululemon founder and Vancouver’s very own Chip Wilson has applied to build a massive dock outside his waterfront home on Sunshine Coast, B.C.

According to the documents filed with the Sunshine Coast Regional District, the proposed dock will be approximately 2,500 square- feet, and accommodate two seven-metre boats, and one 14-metre yacht. It may also be used for seaplane landings and smaller vessels. In addition, the proposal also features a 3,000 square-foot breakwater to prevent waves from crashing onto the dock.
Wilson’s neighbors aren’t too happy though. Over 10 neighbors have sent the district letters of concern, and are worried the structure will bring more harm than good. Some went as far as calling Chip Wilson selfish.
A lot of residents in the area are swimmers, paddlers, or like to snorkel. The idea of having large boats and seaplanes in the water will change the dynamic of the harbour and provide potential threats.
Ultimately, the decision is up to the B.C. government and not the regional district. The decisions is expected to be made by next month.
