As the holidays creep up and the cold settles in, extra cash is on the way for thousands of British Columbians. Whether you’re getting support as a parent, student, senior, or veteran, there are several federal benefits scheduled to land in bank accounts before the end of the year.
Here’s a look at who’s getting paid and when.
CPP, OAS, CCB and More: What’s Coming Soon

If you receive the Canada Pension Plan (CPP) or Old Age Security (OAS), you can expect monthly payments as usual. Here’s what that looks like:
-
CPP: Up to $1,433 per month
-
OAS (65 to 74): Up to $707.67 if you earn under $148,451
-
OAS (75 and up): Up to $880.44 if you earn under $154,196
The next OAS and CPP payments land on:
🟢 November 26
🟢 December 22
Parents with kids under 18 can expect the Canada Child Benefit (CCB) to be paid out:
🟡 November 20
🟡 December 12
The CCB is tax-free and varies based on family income, number of children, and whether a child has a disability. If you’re new to parenting or just moved to BC, make sure you’re registered through CRA to receive it.
New Benefits for Students and Continued Support for Veterans

Starting in 2025, part-time students aged 18 to 24 with a parent who is deceased or disabled may now qualify for $150.89 per month. This is in addition to the existing support of $301.77 for full-time students. You’ll need to meet minimum attendance rules, and while payment dates haven’t been released yet, the program is confirmed.
Veterans living in BC can also expect their monthly disability payments to arrive on:
🔵 November 28
🔵 December 23
These tax-free payments are for veterans and RCMP members with service-related injuries or conditions. Eligible recipients can choose between a monthly amount or a lump sum payment, depending on their needs.
Looking to stretch your dollar further this winter? If you’re a senior or a person with a disability who owns your home, you might qualify for a BC Property Tax Deferment Program or Home Owner Grant, which helps lower annual costs. Applications are open now through the BC government’s online portal.
