Australia’s STRONG Pilates Is Opening Its First Vancouver Studio And It’s Not Your Typical Pilates Class

Vancouver’s fitness scene is stacked with boutique studios but none quite like this.

STRONG Pilates, a fast-growing fitness brand out of Australia, is opening its very first Vancouver studio in Coal Harbour on May 31st. And while the word “Pilates” might make you think of controlled breathing and deep core work, this new studio is going full throttle with a format that blends high-intensity cardio, strength training, and classic Pilates-inspired movements into one sweaty, low-impact session.

The secret sauce? Their custom-built machines, called the Rowformer and Bikeformer, they are unlike anything else in the city.

What’s a Rowformer Anyway?

Each STRONG class is a 45-minute session that combines traditional reformer-style resistance work with bursts of cardio using either a rowing machine or air bike, all seamlessly integrated into one unit.

Think of it like a Pilates class on beast mode.

The machines were developed to give users a low-impact but high-intensity workout that challenges every major muscle group without wrecking your joints. And because each class rotates focus daily, upper body one day, core the next—you’re never stuck doing the same thing twice.

It’s designed for efficiency and variety, two things busy Vancouverites tend to love.

Meet the Woman Bringing STRONG to Vancouver

Coal Harbour’s studio is being led by Goli Hashtroudi Cramer, a long-time local in the fitness world with over 25 years of experience in yoga, Pilates, and functional training.

After trying STRONG abroad, she saw its potential to shake up Vancouver’s fitness culture.

“I’ve seen so many people plateau or burn out because their training doesn’t evolve,” she says. “STRONG keeps things fresh, intense, and supportive. It pushes you while protecting your joints and that’s a game changer for long-term progress.”

Goli is also focused on building a welcoming and inclusive studio community, something that’s often missing in trend-driven boutique fitness.

The Tech-Savvy Twist

If you’re someone who loves tracking your progress or posting it STRONG’s got you covered.

Each machine comes with a phone mount, so you can record your sessions for content, form checks, or virtual coaching. It’s a small but smart feature that plays well with Vancouver’s social media-savvy fitness scene.
