Over 50 people have died after the largest shooting in United States history took place on Sunday, October 1st on the Las Vegas Strip. Over 500 more people were sent to hospital with injuries.
A Vancouver couple were among the group of terrified people gathered together for a concert in the outdoor arena known as the Las Vegas Village. They were attending the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival.

Quinn Mell-Cobb and Madison Milford were watching the country-singer Jason Aldean perform when they started hearing what they thought were fireworks. Shortly after they first heard the noise they saw the singer rush off of the stage. When the lights come they realized something terrible was happening.
Panic In Terrifying Las Vegas Shooting
They told CBC that a massive crowd of people began running toward them, and they panicked. A man told them there was a shooter on the loose, and Milford fell when they frantically tried to escape.
“I said to her, ‘We can’t stay here. We’re sitting ducks here. That guy is shooting at these people.’ We couldn’t really tell from our vantage point where the shots were coming from, it sounded like it was coming from everywhere,” Mel-Cobb told CBC.
The attacker was discovered on the 32nd floor of a hotel across from the stadium. He had been shooting at the crowd from perched up above, and was identified as Stephen Paddock, a 64 year old male.
He was found dead in Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino after the shooting.
