Vancouver Filmed Deadpool Breaks Box Office Records - Deadpool Pumped Over $40 Million Into BC’s Economy

Ryan Reynolds, or Vancity Reynolds as he goes by on social media, will be welcoming Josh Brolin to the cast of Deadpool 2 later this year when it films in his hometown. The first Deadpool movie which was released last year and also filmed in Vancouver.

The first film went onto break box office records and become the number one highest-grossing R-Rated film of all time. It also pumped over $40 million into the BC economy through the film production and ancillary industries. Vancouverites took a lot of pride and joy in spotting local spots in Deadpool and were elated when the sequel was announced.

The merc with a mouth took to social media to respond to the casting of Josh Brolin as Cable in Deadpool 2:


Brolin responded in-kind with admission of a man-crush:


He has already played Thanos in the Marvel universe with two uncredited cameos: Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) and Guardians of the Galaxy (2014). He continues his motion capture and voice acting role as the villain in the next two Avengers films: Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and the untitled Avengers film slated for 2019.

He now adds the role of Nathan Summers / Cable in the Marvel universe in a four-film contract for the X-Men film series. Deadpool 2 is the first in this contract.
Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have been trolling each other on social media over a Wolverine / Deadpool crossover.

Deadpool 2 is scheduled to starting filming around Vancouver under the project name “Love Machine” from June 19 to October 5, 2017 according to CRBC.
