Public Pianos Will Return To Vancouver This Summer

Vancouver Receives Ten Public Pianos for the Summer

For the last six years, Vancouver has seen random pianos pop up around the city during the summer to inspire music and creativity among residents and tourists.

The project has grown every summer with 2014 being the biggest to date. In a recent announcement, organizers have revealed the piano project will return this summer at the end of June.

While locations are currently a secret, we’re assuming most will return to last years spots including: Spyglass Dock, Robson Park, Creekside Community Centre, Vancouver Aquarium, Canada Place, Dude Chilling Park, Strathcona Park, Main and 21st Avenue, Chinatown, West Hastings and Hornby.

The public pianos project will run from July 1 to the end of August, and the pianos will be available for anyone to play, from aspiring pianists to total beginners. Organizers ask that people wanting to use the pianos do so between the hours of 7:00am through 11:00pm, so that local residents are not disturbed.
