Health Canada has issued a recall for a brand of shampoo that has been sold across the country. The organization is warning consumers to “immediately stop using the recalled product” and to follow the next steps as they are removed from the shelves.

Health Canada: Shampoo Recall
The recall concerns Zorah Biocosmétiques brand foaming shampoo with ghassoul and tea tree. The affected lots include 100040002 and 100040003, product volume 75g/2.6 o.z.
“Health Canada’s sampling and evaluation program has determined that the recalled product contains methyl eugenol above the maximum concentration in the Cosmetic Ingredient Hotlist,” noted Health Canada. “Methyl eugenol is prohibited as a pure ingredient on the Hotlist due to its potential for carcinogenicity but is permitted as a naturally occurring component in botanical extracts with specific limits depending on the product type.

As of February 20, 2026, there are no reported incidents or injuries associated with the recalled product in Canada. The company has reported that 2,821 units of the affected products were sold in Canada. 346 units were distributed in gift packages.
