Police are looking for a suspect who stole from a senior in West Vancouver.
According to West Vancouver Police, a senior was the victim of a distraction theft in the Caulfeild area on June 29th, 2019.
The victim was in the parking lot at the Caulfeild Village Shopping Centre at around 1:00 p.m. when he was approached by a male. The suspect claimed that the senior had dropped money and wanted to return it to him.
However, when the victim opened up his wallet, the suspect was able to remove a debit card without the victim knowing.
It wasn’t until the senior’s bank notified him of suspicious transactions that he realized what had happened.

“It is believed that the suspect likely watched the victim enter his debit card PIN during a transaction in a nearby store moments prior to the distraction theft” reads a police statement.
The male suspect is described as a dark-skinned male, 30-40 years old, with short black hair, wearing glasses, a white button up shirt, and tie. Police also believe this suspect may be connected to a similar theft in the same area last year.
