Whistler Canada Day Long Weekend Celebrations + Fireworks

Canada will be celebrating its 146th birthday this year and do you know how you’re celebrating yet? If you would like a little getaway this Canada day long weekend or simply want to make a day trip of it, Whistler is a great option that’s offering a three day celebration of Canada’s birthday!

Starting Saturday, June 29 until Monday, July 1, Whistler’s Canada day celebrations will be full of amazing family entertainment that will suit just about anyone in your family!

Heres a full schedule of what to expect at this years celebrations:

Saturday, June 29

Sunday, June 30

Monday, July 1: Canada Day

  • Whistler Street Entertainment (throughout the village) – ALL DAY
  • Art Walk (Self-guided tour of local art throughout the Village) – ALL DAY
  • Pancake Breakfast by donation to Whistler Community Services (Rebagliati Park) * Minimum donation of $3 or $2.75 with your own dishes. – 9 am – 11 am
  • North Shore Celtic Ensemble (Town Plaza) – 10:45 am
  • Canada Day Parade (Town Plaza to Mountain Square) –  12 pm
  • Canada Day Ceremony with entertainment and CAKE! (Whistler Olympic Plaza) – 2 pm
  • Reaffirmation Ceremony: Whistler will be holding a reaffirmation ceremony on Canada Day. – 2pm
  • A reaffirmation ceremony is an event where participants repeat the oath of citizenship to express their commitment to Canada. If you are already a Canadian citizen, you can participate in a reaffirmation ceremony. Whistler will be holding a brief reaffirmation ceremony during the Canada Day Celebration at 2 p.m. in Whistler Olympic Plaza.
  • Canadian citizens can download a reaffirmation certificate here.
  • Whistler Presents: Outdoor Concert Series (Whistler Olympic Plaza): Ruckus Deluxe, Norman Foote, Kalan Wi, Jeremy Fisher – 2:30 pm – 7 pm
  • FREE transit within Whistler – 6 pm – late
  • Fireworks in Skier’s Plaza – 10:15 pm
