Imagine cycling in one of Vancouver’s most vibrant parks, only you’re on the water.

Cool off in the Summer with an all new aquatic activity—water bikes.

BC Water Bikes Ltd. is encouraging adventurers to “ride the tide” with their epic water bikes.

The Vancouver Park Board approved a pilot program for the water bike rentals on May 1st. They will operate the rental service at Vanier Park for two years to test out the market.

Water bikes look similar to bikes, hence its name. But instead of wheels, they are attached to what looks like giant water skis or mini kayaks. The sport is a popular activity at many park and beach destinations across the globe.

The Vancouver Park Board said the new activity will add vibrancy to Vancouver’s waterfront, while also enhancing visitor experiences.

A trial version of the rentals launched last year that allowed people to pre-book classes and tours but didn’t offer hourly rates. Due to its popularity, the service expanded into this pilot program.

Rent a water bike and explore the scenic English Bay, Kits and False Creek to enjoy stunning views of the city.
