Every year, VIVA Vancouver transforms an iconic block in downtown Vancouver into a temporary summertime plaza for pedestrians. For 2014, the “Urban Reef” was selected to takeover Robson Plaza and be the go to hang-out spot.
The Urban Reef is a sculpture that invites people to sit, relax, and play. The shape is a series of sections that morph into one another to create a dynamic form that sparks curiosity and invites exploration. The design was created by Kaz Bemner, Jeremiah Deutscher, Michael Siy and Kenneth Navarra – a team of local architects, designers and carpenters.
The Urban Reef made its debut on Canada Day and will say its goodbyes on September 1, 2014.
Make sure you visit Robson Plaza within the week and enjoy the summer attraction before it’s gone.
