While there are many incredible places to explore on the planet, few can compare to the spellbinding majesty of Iceland.

From hundreds of glacial fjords dotting its rugged coastlines, to the profound artistry of its skies illuminated with aurora borealis, Iceland is magic.

The catch for the all this splendid alchemy? Usually a very steep price-tag from the lower mainland; however, this trick will get you to this northern jewel at half the regular price!

First, have a look at some Air Canada fares from Vancouver. Even booked in advance, the fares hardly fall below $700 CAD. Moreover, as the dates approach, the fares will continue to raise as seats become unavailable.

Alternatively, this flight out of Seattle includes the same number of stops, with the same airline, on the dates, but is virtually half the price. While it does mean you’ll have to travel to Seattle, it will save a great deal of money. In fact, a Greyhound bus ticket to Seattle only costs $35 return, which is substantially less than paying an additional $300 or $400 CAD. So, if money is an issue, this fare is your answer!

The dates of travel are from September 21st to October 5th. The price is $262.71 USD including tax, which is roughly $338.17 CAD.

Explore Iceland

As the most sparsely populated country in Europe, Iceland holds a certain mystique to it. With its active volcanoes, glacial river flows, lava fields, and freely roaming Icelandic horses, it oozes adventure. While it doesn’t have a great deal of vegetation, it has numerous waterfalls, mossy hillsides and cascading mountain ranges. With this in mind, some parts of this breathtaking nation look like nowhere else on the planet. Be sure to plan ahead, because there are numerous hikes to take and places to visit.
