You’re going to be seeing a lot more of that iconic bright green colour downtown this spring. In celebrating sustainability with Earth Day, you can also do your part in helping the planet by scooting on an e-scooter as you get around the busy downtown area.

This latest expansion will help everyone in keeping the Earth a little greener– literally and figuratively.

THAT SCOOTER YOU SEE EVERYWHERE

When Lime first launched in September 2024, Vancouverites got quickly accustomed to seeing folks driving around on these lime-green scooters. Shareable e-scooters have since become a staple of city life. Think to yourself: is it really a normal day in Vancouver if you don’t see at least one person on them?

With parking stations all over Vancouver, it’s no understatement to say Lime has been extremely successful with the community. Locals and tourists alike get great mileage out of them– and it’s even better that they’re an eco-friendly, convenient, and affordable way to get from point A to point B.

LIME’S DOWNTOWN EXPANSION

Lime has worked with the City of Vancouver, as well as local businesses and residents, to select the parking stations for their new downtown expansion. They have a heavy focus on “safety, ease of use and access to key downtown routes and destinations.” Safety is especially important, as both Lime and the City of Richmond wish to “ensure responsible riding.”

Lime includes a list of regulations that all riders must follow. Riders must wear a helmet at all times, be at least 18 years old, and have a maximum speed limit of 25 km/h. There are a few other regulations for riders, which you can read up on here on the City of Vancouver’s website.

With downtown Vancouver having such a high demand for the service, Lime’s expansion will surely see a spike in riders. So, get your helmets ready and hop onto that green scooter for a more sustainable Spring!
