Electric vehicles aren’t the only thing Tesla is making these days. Half retro drive-in and half charging station, Tesla has just opened the first diner of its kind that allows you to power up your car while you get your grub on.

TESLA DINER

The first Tesla Diner opened in Hollywood, California in July 2025, and it looks like it was ripped straight out of the 1950s and then doused in futuristic glam. With sleek curves and Tesla’s characteristic silver and red accents, the Tesla Diner combines Supercharging stations with the classic American diner and drive-in experience.

Its retro-futuristic design captures the aesthetics of both genres, and is the perfect place for Tesla and non-Tesla drives alike to charge their EVs. Moreover, it’s the largest urban Supercharging station in the world. Its solar canopies “offer shade to the west charging lot, helping to reduce the site’s carbon emissions by about 12 million kilograms of CO2 per year– making charging even more sustainable,” said Tesla.

The diner features over 250 dining seats, as well as 80 Supercharger stalls. The two-story restaurant is open 24/7, so you can get a meal at any time of the day. The upper-level Skypad lets you enjoy views of Hollywood or watch the outdoor megascreens. You can also catch a movie in the drive-in instead, and purchase Tesla Diner merch.

COMING TO CANADA?

Although there are no announcements as of yet for Canadian Tesla Diners, a second location has already been confirmed for Starbase, Texas, where SpaceX is located.

Elon Musk has confirmed that the first Tesla Diner was just one step of a larger vision. As long as its first locations are successful, Tesla plans to expand the Diners globally– which means Canada could see one in the future.

If there were any place to have a Tesla Diner, Vancouver would be a fantastic candidate. B.C. is one of Canada’s leaders in EV sales, with 22.4% of new vehicle sales being EVs. So, it would be a potentially favourable choice for a Tesla Diner to find its first Canadian home in Vancouver.

Do you think Tesla Diners should come to Vancouver?
